Balloon flight over Phoenix

It was an early morning rise for our hot air balloon flight over Phoenix, Arizona. Yes, summer time in Phoenix is the perfect time for a hot air balloon flight. Just like the Phoenix rising from the desert sands whenever I get the opportunity I love to take a hot air balloon ride. I always find it pure joy, just to drift over the landscape below. It is not only the awesomeness of floating over the landscape but, you also get a bird's eye glimpse of things below. Besides, it was August in Phoenix, Arizona. August is so hot in Phoenix; so what is more exciting than taking an early morning hot air balloon ride over the desert.

Before sunrise we were picked up at our Scottsdale resort and driven to the takeoff site. When we arrived at the takeoff site the sun was starting to rise and the hot air balloon was being readied for flight.

Finally, we were ready for lift off. Soon we are off, riding the heat waves over Phoenix.

During our flight we travelled over the desert north of Phoenix and viewed the local mountain ranges.

A one to two hour  hot air balloon flight goes too quickly. All too soon we are getting ready for landing. As we approached the landing site we crossed over the highway. Yes, we did wave at the cars passing by. By the way, it would not be a good place to drop you iPhone.

All too soon we were back on the ground. As it is the custom after landing there was some bubbly waiting.

There was time for sparkling wine and breakfast before retreating from that hot Arizona sun. August in Phoenix calls for some serious adaptation during the heat of the day.

It seems that summer time is a popular time for hot air balloon flights. During Spaswinefood summer travels we saw hot air ballooning in Pagosa Springs, Colorado and Sedona, Arizona.

Our early morning balloon flight over Phoenix, Arizona was amazing. The desert landscape looked so inspiring in the early morning sun. Maybe, it is because I have had such wonderful hot air balloon flights over Cappadocia and the Serengeti that I am addicted to such adventures. I can still remember the Cappadocian landscape dotted with vineyards below. The landscape was so spectacular, as we floated pass fairy chimneys and rock castles, in the early morning light. The Serengeti cats, balloons and wine story began with some early morning animal sightings during our balloon flight over the Serengeti savanna. Our sunrise flight was a time to see hippopotamus hanging out in their favorite places. There is so much to discover on an early morning balloon flight.

If your travels take you to Phoenix check out hot air ballooning. You can also check out on other things to do and see in the Phoenix area. Of course while in Arizona do not forget to try some Arizona wine. I invite you to join me in my travels in Arizona and elsewhere in search of the best in Spaswinefood.
