#Winelover Hangout in Bucharest

It was a late August evening in Bucharest and we were off to an eventful evening with #winelover friends. How could our Spaswinefood week in Romania be vanishing before our eyes? Let’s take a look at a #winelover's day in Bucharest.

A #Winelover Day in Bucharest
On our last day in Romania, just after breakfast, we visited the Chirescu Corkscrew Museum, which houses the largest corkscrew collection in the world.

It is indeed an impressive collection of corkscrews. We were not permitted to take pictures of the corkscrews inside the museum. While at the museum however, we went upstairs to take a look at the Bucharest skyline. It was indeed a beautiful skyline that day.

Time to Sparkle at Piata Constitute
Next, it was onto Piata Constitute for a sparkling wine tasting in the plaza.  By this time our #winelover group were ready to taste some wine.

Yes, after toasting with sparkling wine it was time to strike a pose. Who would not give it a try?  Given this awesome backdrop we all did.

I did managed to catch a few poses. There was Mr. #Winelover himself.

There was even  a #winelover who is also a Jack Daniels fan.

During an earlier visit to Piata Constitute Spaswinefood did a tour.

Satului Museum
Onto the Satului Museum it was. This ethnographic museum displays authentic houses from all parts of Romania.

I manage to see a few cats napping.

The museum has a feeding program for the cats that live on the museum grounds. I would encourage visitors to make donations.

After the tour we had lunch at the museum restaurant before heading back to our hotel. Fortunately there was a little down time before heading out to the evening activities.

Tasting Davino and Serve Wines at Crama Domneasca
First on the evening agenda was a wine tasting of Davino and Serve wines at Crama Domneasca.

There at Crama Domneasca we would join #winelover friends for dinner. There was an exciting lineup of Davino and Serve wines.

Yes, dinner with traditional Romanian food and good wines is impossible to beat.

Indeed Davino Wines and Serve Wines were great hosts.

This is how special #winelover memories are made. It is hard to beat great food and wine with friends, both old and new friends.

#Winelover Hangout in Bucharest, Romania
After an amazing wine tasting of Davino and Serve wines at Crama Domneasca it was onto the official  #Winelover Hangout at Corks Cozy Winebar (next door to La Mama Lipscani). What inspired me most about the #Winelover Hangout in Bucharest was that it was a gathering of locals who love wine.

Meeting so many Romanian #winelovers in one location that evening was indeed inspiring. Sadly, I had to leave early to catch an early morning flight.
It was an evening that I should not have missed.

Our last day in Romania was a great ending to vine-inspired travels. While we had tasted Romanian wines on a number of occasions prior to visiting Romania, nothing compensates for a first hand experience in country. Fortunately, we had arrived in Romania a week before the #Winelover Hangout. This gave us the opportunity to explore Southern Romanian wineries. For this Spaswinefood enthusiast it was an awesome enotourism adventure. I invite you to join me in my travels in Romania and elsewhere at Spaswinefood Special thanks to Razvan Stoenescu, George Wine, and all our new Romanian friends for being such wonderful hosts during our vine-filled explorations
