It was mid-December when we visited Palm Springs. We just happened to be walking back from a movie one evening when a maitre'd at a street side restaurant got our attention. Since we found the restaurant inviting we decided to have dinner at Kalura Trattoria Italiana. Kalura Trattoria is an Italian Restaurant located in the heart of Historic Palm Springs.

After indicating that we wanted to dine inside we were promptly seated. A waiter then brought us menus and bread. We ordered a bottle of Castle Rock Cabernet 2009. The wine was good and at $29 it was a fair restaurant price.
For entrées we both ordered pastas. My pasta was Ziti alla Caprese and John’s was Cappellini Checca. Both pastas were good. Our dessert choice was Crème Brulée.

Kalura Trattoria offers both inside and outside dining. Our overall dinning experience at Kalura Trattoria was quite pleasant. The food was good and the service was excellent. Palm Springs Restaurant Search places it in the mid-price range ($$).

Reviews of Kalura Trattoria by Tripadvisor (four stars) and Yelp (three and half stars) are quite favorable. In addition, a Desert Sun Review is posted on Kalura Trattoria's homepage. Kalura Trattoria is a good place to have an authentic Italian meal in historic downtown Palm Springs.
