In search of Calgary's Best Spas

Calgary, the largest city in Alberta and the second largest Western Canada city, is a fun city to visit any time.  It is also a great city for a Spaswinefood visit. Calgary's downtown is modern and inviting. There are many spas located downtown and throughout the city.

Prior to Spaswinefood visiting Calgary I came up with the following spa information sites:

  • It provides a list of spas within the various area of Calgary (NW(63), NE(21), SE(33) and SW(38) and Downtown(31) ). Using this website you can get more information about a spa if you know the name; locate spas within a postal code.

  • A travel guide to over 60 Calgary spas, with each entry giving a description of services and contact information (map, spa website link, phone number, email and address). It allows you to save info and add an event. You can write a review for the listed spas and read posted reviews. However, when I checked the review volume was low.

  •  An online resource for Canada spas that lists a few Calgary spas.

  • It lists 19 spas with brief descriptions. Some spas have photos posted. Clicking on the photo you will get an overview, description of services, google map, read reviews, contact info and you can book online. You can also sort the spa list by 1) Wayspas Picks, 2) Star Rating, 3) Customer Rating, 4) Best Savings, 5) Price Low, 6) Price High and 7) Recently Added. The downside to this website at the moment, is that not all the photos are up and for some spas have incomplete information.

Given that Calgary has so many great spas, it is not easy to pick "The Best Spa in Calgary".  Best of Calgary 2010  Fast Forward Weekly readers however, picked the following as "Calgary's Best Spas":

1. Oasis Wellness Centre and Spa, Mount Royal Village, 880 16th Street SW
  • Spa reviews of the Oasis Wellness Centre and Spa were also posted on merchantcircle, reviewblue, userinstinct,  yelp and ziplocal.
2. SwizzleSticks Salon Spa, 1211 Kensington Road NW
  • Spa reviews of the SwizzleSticks Salon Spa were also posted at spafinder, salons.ca, wayspa, yelp and ziplocal.
3. Stillwater Spa, Hyatt Regency at 700 Centre Street SE
  • Spa reviews of the Stillwater Spa were also posted at reviewstream, travelpod, traveltowellness, tripadvisoryelp and ziplocal

The online resources are helpful in finding a Calgary spa. My best wishes are that you will find a spa just perfect for you. Here's to "happy spa days" Calgary.
