The historic Picchetti Winery 13100 Monte Bello Road, Cupertino founded by the Picchetti Brothers is one of the oldest wineries in California. The Santa Cruz Mountains historic winery was established in 1896. Steve Ferre's article gives a description of Picchetti's history. Today's Picchetti leadership team includes Leslie Pantling (proprietor), Aimee Baker (winemaker), Cameron Pantling (Director, Picchetti Tahoe) and staff. Picchetti Winery has two tasting rooms, one in Cupertino and the other in South Lake Tahoe. Spaswinefood recently visited both the Cupertino and South Lake Tahoe tasting rooms.
Cupertino Tasting Room
The Cupertino Tasting Room at 131100 Monte Bello Road is located on the Picchetti Ranch Area, Monte Bello Open Space Preserve (part of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District). The winery hosts events, such as summer concerts and weddings. It is also a great place for hiking and a picnic. The Picchetti Winery produces limited production handcrafted, award winning wines, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel and Chardonnay from the estate vineyard and various California vineyards. While visiting the Cupertino Tasting Room some of the wines we tasted included:

Lake Tahoe Tasting Room
Lake Tahoe Tasting Room is located at 3135 Harrison Avenue, South Lake Tahoe. It was once the site of a wedding chapel. This site also hosts special events, such as weddings.
