At the Wine Blogger Conference (#WBC12) in Portland I got to taste Recuerdo Wines from Mendoza, Argentina. Even though Spaswinefood has visited Mendoza I had yet to taste Recuerdo's wines. Kim Kolb at Winey Women has written about her #WBC12 experience with Recuerdo wines from a marketing perspective. It was during a live blogging session of only five minutes that we were introduced to Recuerdo Wines. Besides getting to taste a Torrontés wine, part of the introduction included a USB drive with photos of Mendoza's Recuerdo Wines.

The Live Blogging Session
Yes, it was during a speedy live blogging and tasting session on whites and rosés we were introduced to a Recuerdo Wines Torrontés. Recuerdo Wines produces high quality Malbec and Torrontés. Recuerdo Wines are a part of the Bespoke Collection, which also includes Blackbird Vineyards and Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley. The Recuerdo Torrontés that I tasted was grown in the Famatina Valley at La Rioja, Argentina.

I always enjoy knowing something about those who produce the wines. I have discovered that the wine making team at Vines of Mendoza includes Pablo Martorell, winemaker and Santiago Achaval, consulting winemaker

You can check reviews of Recuerdo wines at Gayot, Kens Wine Guide, Momtastic, Snooth and The Reverse Wine Snob. Without doubt Recuerdo is on my list of Argentine wineries that I must visit soon. Argentina I will be back to taste some more wines, to eat a few more empanadas and to check out your tango. I invite you to join me in my travels in Argentina and elsewhere in search of the best in Spaswinefood. You may also visit my travel column at the Examiner.
Do not worry, we will return.
