Tsillan Cellars at the south end of Lake Chelan is a perfect wine country escape. Every once and awhile
Spaswinefood takes a vine filled escape with other wine bloggers, with interesting blog names such as Señorita Vino, Vino Noire and Winehooch. One such outing was the #WBC13 pre-conference tour to
Lake Chelan Wine Valley. After touring all day we were off to the beautiful Tsillan Cellars for an evening of wine tasting and a winemakers dinner. The winery name "Tsillan" meaning deep waters, comes from the original native spelling for Chelan. That evening we experienced the special magic of a sunset over Lake Chelan.

Grand Tasting
We arrived at
Tsillan Cellars just in time for a Grand Tasting before dinner. During the tasting we sampled Lake Chelan wines from
Atam Winery,
Nefarious Cellars,
Vin du Lac,
Mellisoni Vineyards and
Tsillan Cellars. Here are a few of these wines:

Dining at Tsillan Cellars Sorrentos Restaurante was a special. It was such a beautiful setting for great wine conversation, as the sun went down over Lake Chelan. You can view other visitors comments at Gogobot, Urbanspoon and Yelp. I discovered some reviews of Tsillan Cellar wines at A Student of Wine, Cellartracker, Gayot and Great Northwest Wine. Tsillan Cellars is also a beautiful setting for a wedding, as noted by sources such as Seattle Bride and The Knot.

Tsillan Cellars is indeed an Italian retreat in Lake Chelan Wine Country. Some have described Tsillan Cellars as the romance of Tuscany on the shores of Lake Chelan. If you are looking for a relaxing wine country getaway in Washington State put Lake Chelan Wine Country, at the top of your list. Lake Chelan AVA, a sub-appellation of the Columbia Valley AVA, is located in the north central part Washington State. What defines Lake Chelan AVA however, is its location at an higher elevation, unique soils and the overall effect of the lake on the growing season. Wines Northwest describes Lake Chelan Wine Country as the newest and amongst the most scenic of Washington State's wine growing regions. At Tsillan Cellars in Lake Chelan we
discovered some amazing wines and great hospitality. I
look forward to writing
more on my travels in Lake Chelan Wine Valley and elsewhere in Washington State at Spaswinefood.
