Punto Panorámico (Mirador & Bar): The best place to sip Patagonia wine

Bariloche’s Punto Panorámico Mirador & Bar tops the list for a casual dining spot with one of the most spectacular views that you will encounter in Argentina. Punto Panorámico (Panoramic Point), just as its name suggests, is indeed the most scenic spot for a glass of Patagonia wine. From this iconic Bariloche viewpoint you get stunning views of the historic Llao Llao Hotel, Nahuel Huapi and Moreno lakes, the islands, and the mountain ranges. San Carlos de Bariloche is an amazing place, which is well known for scenic vistas. The area draws visitors from around the world who come to enjoy the beautiful scenery, or to go skiing on its famous slopes. During our visit to Bariloche it was the perfect opportunity to check out the Spaswinefood  scene. An highlight was our visit to Punto Panorámico Mirador & Bar.

Restaurant with a View
Punto Panorámico mirador (viewpoint) is a must on the Circuit Chico drive around the Llao Llao Peninsula. It is hard to do this justice to where the restaurant is located; so I will share a few more photos.

We arrived early. This gave me the opportunity to take a few photos before the restaurant filled up for lunch. All tables in the restaurant have window views and the back patio is enclosed in glass.

We chose to dine on the back patio. Just imagine those awesome views from the back patio. It is hard to beat having lunch here.

Indeed what a place it was for lunch on that beautiful summer’s day. Punto Panorámico offers great menu choices for small restaurant. It you are looking for tasty, fresh cooked food then this restaurant is the place. Moreover, it is impossible to beat this setting for a glass of wine. In fact on the way in I recognized Bodega del Fin del Mundo wine barrels.

So naturally, I was tempted to order Bodega del Fin del Mundo wine. We decided on a Bodega del Fin Del Mundo, Extra Brut Pinot Noir - Chardonnay NV. Besides bubbles not only goes well with great views but also pairs well with many foods.

Sitting there with a Patagonia wine from a winery that we discovered years ago was priceless.

The restaurant also serves breakfast and dinner. We wanted to return for breakfast however, we did not get back there to try breakfast. I have read that the coffee is good. I cannot imagine a more scenic spot for breakfast.

The owner is a great host I am told and so is the co-host Olivia, a gracious German Sheppard. We did manage to meet both during our visit.

The Views Next Door
On the way out I took the time to checkout the kiosk next door. This enabled me to capture more photos of this beautiful setting.

Punto Panorámico thanks for the memories! Bariloche is one of those few special places in the world. For the traveler Bariloche offers a wide range of restaurants. To find the best dining spots can be a challenge. Nevertheless it is well worth the time to research online sources. Besides dining at Punto Panoramic while in Bariloche we explored a number of restaurants both in downtown and surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed the ice cream parlors. Bariloche has some of the best ice cream in the world. It also has awesome chocolate!! Each year, as the Christmas holiday season arrives, I often think back to that wonderful time years ago in Bariloche, Argentina. I invite you to join me in my travels in Argentina and elsewhere in search of the best in Spaswinefood.
