Los Gatos, California has always been a fun town to explore. But, do you know that it has lots of choice in wine tasting rooms and wine bars? With the increasing popularity of wine bars and tasting rooms, Los Gatos has become a popular spot to sip wine.

Spaswinefood will now take you on a walk through downtown Los Gatos to some of the best places to sip wine. If we start on West Main and walk towards North Santa Cruz, there are two options on Main Street (French Cellar, and Fleming Jenkins Wine Tasting Room ).
French Cellar
The French Cellar 32 East Main Street offers tasting of French wines from the major wine growing regions in France. They also hold wine tasting classes 2-3 times each month; you can even create your own wine tasting event or party. Fleming Jenkins Vineyards & Winery Tasting Room
The Fleming Jenkins Wine Tasting Room 45 West Main Street offers limited production Chardonnay, Syrah, dry Rosé and Cabernet wines. The small family owned winery makes wine from grapes grown at premium Santa Cruz Mountains to Napa Valley vineyards. The husband/wife owners are physician and winemaker, Greg Jenkins and Peggy Fleming, an Olympic Gold Medalist figure skater.

Spaswinefood visited for dinner on June 20, 2011. We ordered a bottle of 2005 Marqués De Murrieta Reserva (Tempranillo) from Finca Ygay, Rioja, Spain. Reviews of this wine are on KL Wine Merchant, Snooth and if you like check out a professional taster on Youtube Video.

We loved our dining experience at Cin-Cin; the fact that they feature sustainable seafood and meats and support local growers with environmentally-friendly practices. They also select wines that are sustainable, organic and bio dynamic. Cin-Cin is a great place to drop by for wine and tapas, do wine tastings, or enjoy good wine with dinner. Their Monday's 50% off a bottle of wine is a great deal. It is Zagat rated and 2010 Michelin Guide recommended. You can check reviews on Yelp.
Enoteca La Storia
Enoteca La Storia 416 N. Santa Cruz is a wine bar/wine shop with an extensive selection of wines. They also serve food - breads, meats, cheeses, small plates, sandwiches and salads.

Check out their Happy Hour 3:30-5:30 Mondays through Thursdays and No Corkage Fee Mondays. They offer wine tasting, tasting events and wine club membership. Spaswinefood dropped by on a Monday morning and took this picture.

Given the popularity on wine bars and tasting rooms any time is a fun time to check out wine happenings in Los Gatos. You can attend one of the various wine tasting events, or simply drop by one of the tasting rooms or wine bars. In some cases you can also enjoy a cheese plate or tapas with your tasting or have a meal. Also, do not forget Los Gatos VineWalk is held every spring in downtown Los Gatos.
