Dutch Henry Winery, Napa Valley

You know when you see a wine bottle, or taste a wine and you remember I have had that wine before. This was the case when we recently ordered a wine flight at Wynn's Country Club, Las Vegas. The wine flight we ordered included (1) Dutch Henry Winery, Napa Valley, Hillside Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 (see reviews at Cellar Tracker and wine-searcher ), (2) Momo, Marlborough Pinot Noir, 2008 (see reviews at Old Parn's Wine ReviewVinopedia and Wine Align) and  (3) Stratton Lummis The Riddde, Napa Valley Red Wine NV (see reviews at Snooth and The Sip-Worthy Cellar).

Last time Spaswinefood visited Napa Valley we dropped by Dutch Henry Winery; so it was easy to identify with one of the wines in the flight. It was equally exciting to be introduced some new wines. As the reviews suggest it was a good wine flight.

Dutch Henry Winery Visit
It had been awhile since our visit to Dutch Henry Winery, Napa Valley. In fact Spaswinefood discovered Dutch Henry Winery just after visiting one of the larger Napa Valley wineries that everyone raves about. We were not impressed with the self-guided tour and tasting at the larger winery. Some of us have an affinity for the luxury of being treated to a wine tasting where there are not bus tours and long lines of people. The gentler pace is what we found at Dutch Henry Winery. When we arrived at Dutch Henry Winery we were greeted by two friendly dogs.

It was not until I tasted a Dutch Henry wine, as part of a wine flight at Wynn's Country Club, Las Vegas that I thought it was about time to revisit my notes from earlier visit to the winery. Amongst my photos I discovered the following:

Of course I tasted the wines being poured on that summer day. Dutch Henry Winery specializes in producing small case lots of Handcrafted wines. Dutch Henry Winery also produces wines under the Chafen label. Some of Dutch Henry vineyards are organically farmed (California Certified Organically Farmed, CCOF).

I still remember the terriers and of course the friendly cat.

If your travels take you to Napa Valley drop by Dutch Henry Winery and check out their wines. For a description of this winery check out NapaLinks. You will find reviews of the Dutch Henry Winery on Yelp and Tripadvisor. I look forward to writing about my wine experiences in Napa Valley and elsewhere at Spaswinefood, or you can also visit my travel column at the Examiner
