A special place to dine in Willamette Valley Wine Country

Oregon has so many fabulous wine regions and to go along with great wine it also has "great dining". At the end of a day touring Willamette Valley Wine Country wine regions of Yamhill - Carlton and Dundee Hills we decided on a special place to dine. After some research we decided to have dinner at Jory at The Allison Inn and Spa, Newberg. Spaswinefood choose to dine there because the restaurant supports greener wineries and farm to table dining. It is without doubt that foodies, wine enthusiasts and spa lovers will not want to miss visiting this resort.

Dining at the Jory Restaurant
Jory offers a number of setting areas for dining. One option is at the counter facing the open kitchen. Sitting at the chef's table is an absolute foodie's delight.

While it was so tempting to be at the chef's table we chose to dine outside on the terrace. No matter which seating area you select, chef's table, terrace or main dining room, you will love the casual elegance of dining at Jory's.

Excellence in Wine and Food
The wine list at Jory is impressive. You will select from an 800 label wine list. The restaurant received the Wine spectator Award of Excellence 2012.  The wine choices include bio-dynamic, organic and sustainable wines. They also allow diners to bring their own wine, with a bottle limit and a corkage fee. We started with a wine flight of North West wines and a cheese plate. The fun thing about selecting a cheese plate is that we were able to select three types of cheeses from the list.

After the wine flight arrived along came some tasty Hors D'oeuvres to get us started.

The cheese plate was delightfully paired with fruit and nuts.

Next, we had an awesome salad.

We were not surprised to discover that dining at the Jory Restaurant gets top reviews at OpenTable, Tripadvisor, Urbanspoon and Yelp.

Taking a Look Beyond
As you arrive and depart from the resort you can not but notice the beautiful landscaping. The colors in the August garden were quite inviting.

The Allison Inn and Spa has created a wonderful setting for a dining experience at JORY; it also provides an eco-friendly environment experience throughout the resort.  Surrounding the resort you will also find eco-friendly vineyards. They have five acres planted in Pinot Noir and two acres in Pinot Gris. If you are looking for some vinotherapy then you might want to try Pinotherapy at the Allison Spa.

During a Willamette Valley Wine Country visit you will find that there are so many wonderful Willamette Valley wineries to visit near Newberg. Here is a list of Willamette Valley wineries. The Oregon Wine Board provides a list of Oregon wine regions.  I invite you to join me in my travels in Oregon and elsewhere in search of the best in Spaswinefood
