When we arrived at the entrance to Archery Summit the view of the estate vineyard, with the winery on the hilltop, was absolutely stunning. The views were so amazing that I could not resist stopping to take pictures of the vineyard before arriving at the tasting room. Spaswinefood had come to taste Archery Summit's estate grown Pinot Noir wines. Archery Summit founded in 1993 has developed an international reputation for producing some of the finest Pinot Noir in the world. The winery gets its name from the road where it is located. Archery Summit, Domaine Serene and Domaine Drouhin, have been considered by wine critics to be producing some of the area's top Pinot Noir. During an August visit to the Dundee Hills I discovered what makes Archery Summit one of Oregon's top wineries.
Let us take a look at some of these vineyard views.
When you reach the top, next to the tasting room, you will find a relaxing patio area. Do not forget to sit for awhile and take in the views below.
When we visited the tasting room we tasted the following wines:
1. Archery Summit, Willamette Valley Vireton Pinot Gris 2013
2. Archery Summit, Willamette Valley Vireton Rosé 2013
3. Archery Summit, Looney Vineyard, Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir
4. Archery Summit, Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Premier Cuvée 2012
5. Archery Summit, Dundee Hills, Archer's Edge Estate Pinot Noir 2011
6. Archery Summit, Dundee Hills, Red Hills Estate Pinot Noir 2011
7. Archery Summit, Dundee Hills, Red Hills Estate Pinot Noir 2011

While I enjoyed the Pinot Gris and Rosé wines I had really come to taste Archery Summit's Pinot Noir wines. I was not disappointed the Archery Summit's Pinot Noir wines that I tasted were indeed amongst the top Pinot Noir wines that I have ever tasted. The elegant aromas and refiness on the palate is what sets Archery Summit's Pinot Noir apart from many Pinot Noir wines that I have tasted. I was also lucky enough to taste a few older vintages during my visit. These wines age well. It is no doubt that Archery Summit's wines are carefully crafted to showcase the distinct terroir from each of their five estate vineyards (120 acres). The vineyards are LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology)
Certified, Oregon's Certified Sustainable program.
