Springtime wine sips in Paris

It is hard to beat sipping wine in Paris in the springtime. After visiting France’s Champagne Region Spaswinefood and a friend spent a week in Paris. Since it is impossible to visit all the top wine bars  in a week, I decided to savor those wine moments we spent at Bonvivant, Passarito, and Ma Cave Fleury wine bars, and our restaurant outings. Come along with me, as we sip French wines in Paris.

Our Paris wine sips began at Bonvivant.

Sipping Wine at Bonvivant
We met with a friend at a Bonvivant wine bar in the Latin Quarter for dinner. This was not just any friend, but Girl Meets Glass who lives in Paris.

It was fabulous evening, getting insights into the Paris wine scene from Tanisha at Bonvivant.

For dinner that evening we choose a Michel Gindrier biodynamic white wine.

I loved this wine, particularly how it evolves, from first to last sip. This is a super delicious wine from start to finish. We totally enjoyed our experience at the Bonvivantand I would highly recommend it.

Passarito: French and Portuguese Wines
A #winelover friend recommended that we visit Passarito, a wine bar, that offers Portuguese and French wines.

When we dropped by for lunch we were not disappointed.

We ordered a Buffalo Green Tomato Salad, and a Provence rosé wine from their wine list.

I loved the wine with the heirloom tomatoes. Perhaps, if time permitted I would have tried their Portuguese wines, many of which I know and love.

This wine bar is a charming place. If you you are looking for a warm, cross-cultural wine experience, then drop by Passarito

Ma Cave Fleury: Biodynamic Champagne
Ma Cave Fleury is a Paris wine bar serving biodynamic Champagne. Again, this was a recommendation from a #winelover friend.

The afternoon we visited we opted to do their wine flight offering for the day.

Our Champagne tasting included the following three biodynamic wines:

1. Champagne Fleury, Blanc de Noirs NV

This Champagne Fleury, Rosé de Saignee Brut is a biodynamic champagne developed by the saignée method, using Pinot Noir grapes.

I like all three of the champagnes, especially their 2011 vintage. While we enjoyed sitting at a window seat, you can have a table street side, or inside the tasting room.

Given the wine bar's location on a street known for porn and prostitutes, Ma Cave Fleury is an interesting venue in which to enjoy France's most famous luxury product. Nevertheless, this is perhaps one of the best places in Paris to taste biodynamic Champagnes made by a small producer. Ma Cave Fleury is well worth a visit for those interested in exploring biodynamic champagnes in Paris.

Wine Moments Continued
Whether we were hopping on and off the metro, or walking through the Latin Quarter, or Saint-Germain neighborhoods, we enjoyed those random wine moments out and about in Paris.

There were many times when I ordered a Provence rosé wine. One of those times was at a nearby tapas and bistro, Dans Les Landes where we sat street side.

Dans Les Landes was perfect spot for street side dining near our hotel. Another evening, we popped into the nearby Café Tourn'Bride for dinner.

You will never have enough time during a week's stay to get to know all the best stops in the Latin Quarter, or nearby Saint Germain.

I welcome all the opportunities to sip French wines, like over lunch at Le Procope.

Then of course, there were those wine moments we missed at places, like Desvouges

This post is first in a series about our Paris adventures. Indeed it was a perfect springtime week in Paris. There was plenty of sunshine, with occasional showers in the later afternoon, or evening. If you just happen to be in Paris, and would like to take a wine tour contact Girl Meets Glass. I invite you to join me in my travels in France and elsewhere at Spaswinefood.
