Memories of a #winelover day in Bucharest

Memories, #Winelover Oltenia Wine Tour memories, are meant to be revisited. Perhaps that is why I like to document such occasions to share later. For me it is a way to savor those special events that often pass too quickly. Now I will share memories of a most delightful November day in Bucharest with friends.

Our day in Bucharest with #winelover friends, included a wine tasting over lunch at the Tasting Room Gastro Wine Bar, and a #Winelover Hangout.

Memories: Tasting Room Gastro Wine Bar
Upon reaching Bucharest, our first stop was the Tasting Room Gastro Wine Bar for a wine tasting of Liliac Wines over lunch. Transylvania's Liliac Winery is located in Batos in the Lechinta Wine Region. The wines are made with Romanian grapes under the expertise of Austrian Rodoff Krizan. The Romanian word liliac means bat or flittermouse. The winery's colorful wine labels typically have a bat included somewhere in the design.

The Gastro Wine Bar was a great choice. Put this wine bar on your list if you plan to visit Bucharest.

While we enjoyed a delicious lunch, we tasted a few wines. First, here are some of the lunch options.

There are also some totally tasty, veggie options.

Here are two of the Liliac wines that I tasted.

This is quite a delightful Sauvignon Blanc.

Next is the first Romanian ice wine that I have tasted. I loved it! It was the right time and place for something sweet.

The wine tasting brought back earlier memories of Liliac Wines that I tasted at La Mama Ateneu, Bucharest. After a relaxing lunch at the Tasting Room Gastro Wine Bar we checked into our hotel before an eventful evening with #winelover friends. How could my Spaswinefood week in Romania be vanishing before our eyes? Let’s take a look at our #Winelover's Hangout in Bucharest.

Memories: Winelover Hangout, Bucharest

A #winelover hangout in Bucharest is not to be missed. Given there were four #winelovers from the US, and it just before American Thanksgiving, our Romanian hosts made sure we did not go without turkey.

Besides turkey the feast included many other tasty foods. What is a #Winelover Hangout without wines? This is one of the wines included in the BYOB that evening.

Meeting Romanian #winelovers in one location that evening was indeed inspiring. Sadly, I left early because I had to catch an early morning flight next day. In fact I still remember an earlier #Winelover Hangout in Bucharest where I also left early for the same reasonReminder to self " Please not do take an early morning flight next time".

Our last day in Romania was a great ending to our Oltenia Wine Tour travels. Nothing compensates for a first hand experience in country. We had not only an opportunity to explore Romanian wines but also to meet some of the faces behind the wines.

Remembering the last day of my #budapesttobucharest adventure, reminds this Spaswinefood enthusiast it was hard to beat #winelover adventures in Romania. Special thanks to Razvan Stoenescu, George Wine, and all our new Romanian friends for being such wonderful hosts during our vine-filled explorations along the Oltenia Wine Route. Moreover, it is always a pleasure to travel with #winelover friends from around the world. I invite you to join me in my travels in Romania and elsewhere at Spaswinefood
